Event Deck Breakdowns
With the current Digital Client event, we are only allowed to play with the Leaders of FB09 Dual Evolution, or the new Starter Decks, FS11 and FS12.
Let's break down our recommended decks for each leader for this event. By all means, you can take these decks and modify them to your liking. We are providing a starting point from what we have done with a little bit of testing.
We also are assuming you have at least 2 of each promo from the level-up rewards, which would be around level 16. If you do not have these, not a big deal, you can sub them out for in-set cards.
Unfortunately, FB09 relies very heavily around their own SCRs and older SCRs from prior sets, so almost each in-set Leader deck does contain multiple copies of these SCRs. If you don't have them, we suggest playing the cheaper alternatives of the Starter decks. To get all the cards for these, you could either purchase 2 codes cards from TCG Player or another online marketplace for about $5 each, or you could spend 2000 gems on buying 2 copies per deck.
With that in mind, let's jump straight in.
FB09-001 Gogeta: BR
Decklist: https://www.deckplanet.net/fusion_world/deck/98d1ab87-c923-4380-93de-9e13a73d8d48
What does this deck do?
The purpose of the Gogeta: BR deck is to [Fusion-Evolve] onto copies of Goku: BR and Vegeta: BR. The [Fusion-Evolve] keyword states that you take the parts, combine them together, and play the resulting card on top in Active mode. This differs from the original [Evolve] skill by not only having 2 card pre-requisite to evolve onto, but also having the resulting card be played in Active mode. This means that you can attack with the fusion parts, and then [Fusion-Evolve] them and then attack again. That alone makes this deck an Aggressive powerhouse with FB09-007 Gogeta: BR coming out and being able to Dual Attack (attack twice).
With the Gogeta: BR Promo FP-070, we can freely [Fusion-Evolve] and have a 25k attacker that minuses 15k on swing. Combine this with the Leader effect of KOing up to 15k power from your opponent's side of the field as long as a [Fusion-Evolve] card was played this turn, this means that 30ks are effectively at risk of staying alive every turn.
How to Win with the Deck
If you choose this deck, you have 2 ways of trying to win with the deck. You could either get your opponent down to 1 life, no battle cards in their battle area, and as long as you have the SCR Gogeta: BR in play, you will automatically win from its alternate win condition from the [End of Your Turn] effect.
The other way of winning is by being so aggressive each turn that your opponent can't keep up with the pressure. You do this by evolving into your 6c Gogeta: BR FB09-007 as early as turn 3, which can be a 45k dual attacker that turn if you play your cards right. Opponents are not equipped to deal with this kind of pressure so early on in the game.
This deck is ultimately the caveman Unga Bunga brain-dead deck of choice.
FB09-025 UI Goku
Decklist: https://www.deckplanet.net/fusion_world/deck/b5a4cc6d-a3b1-4b65-8517-b9d283003e6c
What does this deck do?
Tournament of Power / Universe 7 Blue Goku deck is meant to awaken early, cycle through the deck, [Evolve] into the 5c Son Goku or Vegeta and maintain board control while leaning towards aggression. You are meant to control your opponent's board by bottom decking cards via your Zen-oh or Vegeta cards. Your Leader's [Auto] effect allows you to replenish any card that is discarded from your hand by a Tournament of Power card effect, or from [Evolve]. Since almost card in the deck is one or the other, and has discard effects, you effectively cycle through your deck the entire game.
How to Win with the Deck
As stated previously, your main focus is to control your opponent's board while also being a little aggressive towards their life with your 5c Son Goku or Vegeta. The 5c Son Goku FB09-037 card has 40k attack power, while also having the effect of re-routing any attack (once per turn) to or from it. Meaning offensively you can attack with Son Goku, a 40k swing, then attack with a 1c card, and re-route the attack so that the Son Goku, is the one attacking, meaning another 40k swing. Defensively, it runs like how the Piccolo: SH leader does, where you can redirect 1 attack into Son Goku instead of the original target, kinda like a blocker that doesn't need to activate [Blocker] before your opponent combos.
This deck is complicated to pull off correctly, due to the amount of sequencing that you'll need to do with the cycling effects. Zen-Oh is your friend to help replenish your deck, while also being that 1c swing that you can redirect with Son Goku.
FB09-049 Beast Gohan
Decklist: https://www.deckplanet.net/fusion_world/deck/3208f6c6-9629-4b72-9245-e60729f01d7d
What does this deck do?
Beast Gohan wants to ramp as quickly as possible to 5 energy, and then drop non-stop 8c bombs on the field while obtaining as much [Ki] on the leader as possible to effectively have Special Beam Cannon FB09-072 be your game winning card. This deck re-uses the prior SCR 8c Beast Gohan that removes a card on field, while also replacing your energy with 5 usable energy after being played. It is also a 50k swing. We also use the new 8c SR Beast Gohan [Double Strike] card to remove a Battle Card from your opponent's side of the field and replenish 1 energy.
How to Win with the Deck
Once you are at 5 energy or higher, you will play either the new Promo Gohan FP-072 or FB09-059 Son Gohan, attack, then activate their [activate main] skill, which removes the card from play and then plays a 8c from your hand for free. The 8c cards are 50k cards, which means that they are pretty hard to remove from play by the others in this format. Get 2 or more on the field and your opponent can't really handle that much pressure.
Prior to getting to 5 energy, you want to get as much [Ki] as possible on your Leader so you 5c Son Gohan's effects can go off.
Our version of the deck runs the [Critical] Gamma 1/Gamma 2 as a tech card for a 3 energy play as it is a 25k attacker that your opponent will have to lose at least 1 card when it attacks.
The game ender is swinging and playing your Special Beam Cannon for 1, which removes all the [Ki] from your Leader, you get +10k for each [Ki] removed, additionally if you removed 4 or more [Ki], you restand your 8c Beast Gohan. Imagine getting attacked for 50k double, then at least 60k, then another 50k double. Unlikely to survive after that.
FB09-073 Yellow Gogeta
Decklist: https://www.deckplanet.net/fusion_world/deck/c2acc8bf-84d3-4a68-82e8-263a66f0b66e
What does this deck do?
The deck is meant to start to [Evolve] as early as turn 2 having a 30k on board. From there, It is also meant to be a bit more aggressive by having the back-side of your Leader have a skill where you rest an Another World trait card to restand a different card. Therefore, you have a built-in Dual attacker per turn as long as you have at least 2 cards on the field. With the addition of the new Gogeta SCR, you also have psuedo infinite life as long as you can have multiple of them on field, or can recur them each turn.
How to Win with the Deck
You main focus is to [Evolve] quickly and have 30k bombs on the field that can attack multiple times per turn. You are also meant to get the Gogeta SCR out as quickly as possible too so that you can rest all of your opponent's Battle Area cards per attack, and then you can either clear their board, or stun them by using North Kai's Ability. Keep your opponent locked down, or clear their board by resting their important pieces and attacking into them and you are sure to win.
FB09-097 Gogeta GT
Decklist: https://www.deckplanet.net/fusion_world/deck/efb9c4c5-a2b9-4638-9bbb-a8b663e3d839
What does this deck do?
This deck does a lot, and seemed to be very well tuned throughout the reveal season of FB09. The deck revolves around placing [Ki] on your Battle Cards to get many different effects to go off. You awaken on turn 2 or 3 if you have the Pan: GT FB09-112, or going into the Son Gohan: GT FB09-105. You have a draw engine with the Son Gohan: GT FB09-105 as long as you have 3 or more [Ki] in your Battle Area, so basically once he is in play, you will draw at the end of all your turn. You main focus is to try to get both Vegeta: GT FB09-117 and Son Goku: GT FB09-100 in play as that is your main way to board wipe your opponent has also hit for very hard.
How to win with the Deck
You main focus is to get your 6c SCR Gogeta: GT out on the field as quickly as possible, and then use its effect to take another turn. This will allow you to replay your main cards of the deck, and potentially get even more energy and [Ki] on the field. Once you are at 6 base energy or more and 4 or more [Ki], you can activate its effect to remove everything off your board but it, and then take another turn by removing 6 of your energy. This may feel like it is putting you back, but on swing you get another energy marker, and 2 cards, so the following turn you are anywhere from 2-4 energy, so you can replay the main cards of the deck.
FS11-01 Son Goku SS3
Decklist: https://www.deckplanet.net/fusion_world/deck/33ab725a-9dc9-4562-a0ab-41fd8de66b53
What does this deck do?
Looking at this deck and the Yellow Gogeta deck, you will see basically the same deck. That is kinda the point, the main difference between the two is the inclusion of 3c Kamehameha FS11-17 which is the sneaky way to win by [double strike] pretty quickly. Why choose this leader over gogeta? When you play a card with [Evolve] either by hard casting it, or using the [Evolve] keyword skill, and you have 3 or more Rested Energy, you can untap 2 of those Energy allowing you to play additional cards quickly. Such as a play move on turn 4, playing Veku for 3, untapping 2, activating the effect to play the combo Son Goku/Vegeta and then [Evolve] on top into the SCR Gogeta. Granted it is in Rest Mode upon play, but a 40k in rest mode is still very tough to deal with.
How to Win with the Deck
Aggro your opponent quickly by playing your [Evolve] Cards, and sneaking in the Kamehameha FS11-17 for a quick win is your best bet. You use Blue Power Awakening to remove any big targets from your opponent's side of the field either to set you up for your Leader effect, or post Leader effect since it costs 2. The only downside to this leader is the low life early on due to taking a life at the end of turn, and upon [awaken] you go down to 3 life.
FS12-01 Black Nameku
Decklist: https://www.deckplanet.net/fusion_world/deck/206f15df-06ec-422a-94cd-a68597eaec35
What does this deck do?
Remember [ki]? Well this deck does that too, but mainly on the Leader. The Leader also awakens at 2 or more [ki] on the Leader, but the usecase of the [ki] for this leader is fundamentally more useful than most other decks. Once per turn, on your turn or your opponent's turn, you can remove X amount of [ki] from your side of the field to combo X amount of cards from your Drop for basically free. If you are shotgunning for game, this is perfect offensively and defensively. This deck is also the cheapest of all the decks since it only requires 3 SRs from the main set of FB09, and then is just doubling up most cards from the main deck.
How to Win with the Deck
Your main focus is to get as much [ki] on your Leader as possible, and then use it to combo cards from your Drop for basically free. This will allow you to get your 7c card critical Goku out quickly since its cost is reduce once you have 3 or more [ki] total. You are also meant to be super aggressive with the Nail / Piccolo combo, and also the Gohan / Goku double strike combo.
Really simple deck of getting [ki] quick, being aggressive against your opponent, and using the [ki] to combo cards from your Drop for free to win the game.
