The DeckPlanet Summer Update: Play Face-to-Face, Crack Some Packs, and More
July 2026
It's been a busy few weeks behind the scenes, and a lot of what we've been building just landed. Here's the rundown of everything new since v8.8.0, no jargon, just what's different for you.
🎥 Play Your Opponent Live, Over Webcam
This is the big one. You can now start a live match with someone over video, right from DeckPlanet. No third-party app, no separate camera setup.
Open a room, share the code with your opponent, and you're playing face to face. While you're in a match, you've got a life/health tracker, a quick card lookup so you can double-check what something does mid-game, and simple controls to swap your camera or microphone without breaking your connection. If your signal gets shaky, a little banner lets you know your connection status so you're not left guessing.
📦 Open Some Packs
Ever wish you could crack packs without leaving your collection? Now you can. Head to the new pack-opening page for your game and rip into packs.
Watch your pulls reveal one at a time (or flip on "reveal all" if you're impatient), keep track of your pull stats, and when you're happy with what you got, send those cards straight into the deckbuilder to start building around them immediately. It's a fun way to test your luck and immediately put your hits to use.
Odds for the packs may differ than real life, but should be pretty close.
🎁 Sharing Decks Just Got Easier
Want to show a friend your deck? There's now a quick QR code option. Pull it up, they scan it, done. We also cleaned up the deck menus so sharing, editing, and managing your decks feels a lot less cluttered than before.
📋 Fill Your Want List in One Click
If you're browsing your collection and notice cards you're missing, there's now a "Fill Want List" button that adds them for you. No more manually hunting down and adding cards one at a time. This works across every game we support.
🔀 Sort Decks by Leader Release Date
For collectors and competitive players who like to track the meta over time, you can now sort the deck database by when a leader card was released. Handy if you want to see what's changed since a card first came out.
We are doing a sort based off how our Set selection is based.
🐛 A Handful of Fixes
- Fixed an annoying bug where tapping certain dropdowns on iPhone would zoom the whole page in
- Cleaned up how announcement banners show up on your dashboard
- Fixed some display issues in deck tables for Gundam and other games that don't use leaders
- Straightened out a few pricing hiccups so card prices stay accurate and refresh reliably
🔒 Privacy & Data Rights Update
Last but not least, we rolled out a full privacy overhaul to make sure you're in control of your data:
- New, easy-to-read Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages (phrasing and tone is still being finalized)
- A cookie consent banner so you decide what gets tracked (we only track Monthly Active Users (MAU) and click through via Google Analytics (GA), we do not share or sell any data)
- The ability to download a copy of your data or delete your account entirely, right from your account settings
- Downloading your data is currently limited, it will be expanded upon in the future to include more information.
- A live username availability check when you sign up, so you know instantly if a name is taken
The Big Picture
This update touched nearly every corner of the app, from a brand-new live video play experience, to packs, sharing, collection tools, and a privacy refresh that puts more control in your hands. Thanks for being part of DeckPlanet, and enjoy the new features!
